Recently Osama Bin Laden was killed by a team of navy seals who raided a compound on the outskirts of Pakistan. There has now been several threats made toward the U.S. regarding more "9/11's." Now security is stepping up its numbers at all events including playoff games and any kind of event where there will be a large number of people attending.

Im glad that Osama bin Laden was finally killed however I think it will make things worse for the U.S. He was only one guy in a large group of people who hate the U.S. and are smart enough to coordinate an attack on the U.S. I am worried about possible attacks on the upcoming Indy 500 due to the large turnout of people.

Recently Charlie Sheen starts a charity to raise money for a baseball fan who was critically injured in an attack after a Los Angeles Dodgers game. The man has been in a medically induced coma for the past month. Sheen will donate profits to the man from merchandise sales at his stage show in San Francisco.

I think its really generous for sheen to start a charity for one man. The past month the news has been talking about how bad a person and father charlie sheen is yet he donates thousands of dollars every year to charities and starts his own charities.

Recently Conon O Brian and several other comedians joined together in an effort to raise $750,000 to end deaths by malaria in Africa. It was called the Comedy Fights Malaria Campaign. They were banning together to raise awareness of a disease that kills over 800,000 people yearly in Africa.

I think its cool what the comedians are doing. There using there humor for a good cause and there raising awareness of a devastating disease. They are also attracting the attention of a whole new crowd of people.

Recently a registered sex offender joined Desert Highschool in Yucca Valley California. Many parents are upset over this because of the nature of his crimes. He was convicted for assaulting girls 6 to 15 years old. The school has taken precautions making it to where he would be followed by school staff throughout his day. There also trying to make him take his classes away from the other students. I dont think sex offenders should be allowed at a school with other kids. He is a threat to the students around him and therfore should not be allowed to attend classes with them. I think he should just be homeschooled because he is a danger.

week after spring break

The city of Grand Junction, Colorado recently passed an ordinance banning all marijuana dispensaries in the area. This has caused an uproar in the city due to the fact that people with diseases that qualify them for medical marijuana are now unable to obtain their "medicine." They will now be forced to get their medicine off the street forcing them to partake in illegal activity just to obtain their medicine. I think this is very wrong. Marijuana is a medicine that helps treat the symptoms of alot of diseases such as cancer and chrons disease. I thinks it's wrong to take away medical marijuana from the people who relied on it to cope with their diseases. I think that the city should make a deal with the customers of the dispensaries to where they will be able to obtain their medicine through alternative yet legal ways.

Recently Egyptian voters approved changes in the constitution that make way for parliamentary and presidentials elections. This will bring in Egypts first democratically elected government to replace the regime of former leader Hosni Mubarak.

I think this is great for Egypt. I believe this will ease the protests and please the people. However, I am concerned about the radicals and former supporters of Hosni Mubarak. I think they will cause unesseccary violence in Egypt. However this is the first step toward a democracy and I am happy for Egypt.

Recently the eighth season of Two and a Half Men was brought to an early end when Charlie Sheen, the main character in the tv series, publically insulted the director of the show, Chuck Lorre. In an effort to punish Charlie for his actions, they shut down production. Now Sheen is suing Warner Bros studio for $100 million dollars for breaking the contract and "cheating him" out of his pay for the next 8 episodes planned in the series.

I think Charlie Sheen deserves the money he was cheated out of. His contract had him completing a certain number of episodes per season and he was promised 1.3 million an episode. I think it was very immature for the director to shut down production because of a few insults. He's depriving America of one of the most popular tv shows and his cast of millions of dollars because of his ego.
